visit from friends

Last week, we learned that we would have a visit from a missionary that lives in Japan.

They came back to the United States this year on furlow. Anyway, we, (being Moriah and myself) learned that they were going to be arriving on Monday, and staying till Wednesday. So, all day Monday, (or that's what it felt like) we cleaned and neatened the house. After the cleaning work was done, Moriah made chocolate mousse, which was, just in case you're wondering, extremely delicious.
Then, around 12:30 pm, Mr. Wilhite called to inform us that they were still in New York and that they had had some brake trouble, but that a friend had helped them out. Now they were back on the road and should arrive at our house in 1-2.5 hours. Moriah and I were SO relieved. We had been told that they would arrive pretty much any time after or around lunch time. So we were rather scared that they would arrive at any time and we would still be cleaning the house and the like. Now we had time to relax a little before they got here.
An hour passed, but they hadn't come yet. We began working on school and piano to pass the time. 2 hours passed and they were still not here. In fact, they didn't arrive till after 5:00 pm. Dad called us before they got here, to tell us that they were at the office and were about to leave. Then we started getting dinner ready, and setting the table, and making sure that excitement was so high that there was hardly room for anything else. Everyone knows that suspense is the worse part of anything.
When they finally arrived, Moriah and I were instantly assailed by questions regarding our dog, our sisters, and our parents. And then as quickly as they had arrived, they departed. I'm joking. They didn't actually 'depart'. The children just went outside to play with the dog and Moriah took Grace downstairs to read some books.
That night, Mom and Lydia got back what seemed like extremely late. I was actually having an asthma attack when they got back, and so was not up to greet them. However, they were greeted in full by the Wilhites, who were immensely excited for Lydia's return.
They stayed until Wednesday on which day they left for prayer meeting.
